What this web site is about.
This web site is set up and run by Amateur Radio Operators and Internet Radio Linking Project node owners. We recognized that there are node owners who are interested supporting both IRLP and Echolink Networks on their repeater or radio Link.
The goal is sharing technical information regarding IRLP and EchoLink network inter-operability. Our focus is dual network support for an IRLP node. We will explore the sharing of the existing hardware and software resources of the IRLP node Linux platform. There are many technical, security, operational and philosophical issues involved as well as the policies of the respective network server owners.
The EchoIRLP project will not violate the security or cross-link either network but rather give those who wish to participate in both networks to do so on the Linux Platform.
We have created a forum at Yahoo Groups to discuss these issues. At the present time forum membership is limited to Licensed Amateur Radio Operators who own or operate an IRLP node or compatible EchoLink conference server. It can be found at groups.yahoo.com/group/EchoIRLP/

Thanks to Tony VK3JED and Skip WB6YMH we now have a package using "thebridge" that allows calls to and from both networks. It will also permit cross-linking for emergencies and special events.
We hope to develop this page into a full web site as our project develops.
